The obsession and commentary on pop culture & the celebrity world

I hate spoilers...

but I like taking a break from work & reading blogs on celebrity gossip and bloggers' thoughts on some of my favourite show. I'm still a lil behind on some of the shows that I'm a frequent watcher of, due to mine and my bro's return to the country part way into the television season. So, w/ that in mind and the fact that I *hate* spoilers, reading blogs is increasingly difficult as I don't know what's going to happen on an ep that I haven't seen yet - as was the case when I was perusing TV filter.

What I didn't mind finding out was that they are eliminating the mystery-arcs for Veronica Mars... BBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! That's my whole issue w/ this season - apart from the fact that VM seems a smidge bitchier than before. The lack of a season long mystery arc has totally decreased the mystique of VM. OK, probably not the best way to describe it, but to put it simply, me no likey.

What I didn't want to find out? That the next arc is "Who killed Dean O'Dell." GRRR!

Too cute!

Can't recall the last time I watched an ep of Sesame Street... must have been back in the babysitting days, but came across this snippit on Give Me My Remote. A lil cheesy, but it's my b/f TR Knight. He's just too cute for words! ;)

Aren't their 15 minutes up yet?

Aren't ppl sick of Rob & Ambuh yet? Evidently not as the next season of TAR is going to be All Stars and they are rumoured to be one of the returning couples.

I'll admit - I'm kinda excited about it. I'd love to see Zach & Flo back (how I hate her, but I loved him), the clowns, the incestuous bro & sis, the uber-cute couple Kris & Jon, & maybe that Christian couple.

Are you effing kidding me!?!

There's a reason why they say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This is going to be a disaster... of course, you may want to check in w/ me next yr - knowing me, I'll probably say I loved it. ;)

But seriously... the cowardly lion as a wolverine-like creature and the Wizard being renamed to "Mystic Man."

As John Stossel would say, "Give me a break!"

I feel the same!

Globe & Mail had an article today about the mobile phone industry in Canada. The facts in the article are teh same things that piss me off about the cell providers in our country.

Additional thoughts:
  • It's impossible to compare rates b/n the providers.

  • It's way more expensive to own a cell phone in Canada.

  • @ least in the U.S. they let you roll your minutes over to the next month. Here, if you don't use 'em, you lose 'em.

  • It's actually getting more expensive to own & use a cell phone. Case in pnt - when I first got my cell from Fido in '99 there was no monthly user fee, voicemail was $4 and offered way more functionality than it does today, long distance calls were 15 cents/min., additional minutes were 15 cents/min, roaming in the U.S. was 50 cents U.S.... I could just go on

If I had a choice, I wouldn't fork $ over to the cell phone providers, but my company pays for the majority of my bills and I need it for work. :\

A nation w/in a nation

I know I really need to do a better job at blogging - one day perhaps. If it's any condolence, I still haven't gotten my travel blog up. It's been nearly two months since I left on my trip & I'm pretty sure that I only remember about 25 per cent of my trip now. ;)

As most ppl know by now, Stephen Harper announced/suggested in Parliament yesterday that Québec should be "annointed" as a . Not totally sure how I feel about that.

I'm a staunch supporter of keeping Québec in Canada. Some say - why keep them if they want to leave, let them leave. It could be the experience I had w/
Encounters w/ Canada in 1996 where I had the opportunity to meet 116 other teens from all over Canada, including Québec. While the program didn't promote "nationalism," it definitely encouraged it and it definitely had an effect on me. & now that I think about it, I can't believe htat it's been 10 yrs since that trip...

W/ this said, I've been out of history class for a number of yrs now & can't remember exactly the definition of what it means to be a "nation." It's an interesting concept - having Québec as a definitive nation. Not sure what that will mean overall. Will it be similar to the relationship Canada has w/ the First Nations? Only time will tell...
