A long time in its making...

of this post that is. I've been meaning to post about The Killers show... well, since the night of The Killers show. But you know me, I just never get around to it or I'm too lazy or I get bogged down @ work.

While I have already seen The Killers this year at the Vogue Theatre, I'm glad I went to see them again. W/ this said, I'm glad that I was also at the Vogue show.

I really do enjoy teh high energy of their songs & well... I really like their stuff, so I was thrilled to hear they were coming back to town. What I wasn't thrilled w/ was the $49.99 price attached to its ticket. The show was great, but it didn't really measure up to the Vogue show. Mostly because that was my first time seeing them & I was pretty much three rows of ppl in. This time... I was pretty far back - mostly because I didn't want to fight w/ all the dumbass frat boys and girls who do not dress appropriately for shows. :
Anywho, this time around, they played ALL the songs off their album, including the one I hate the most & usuallly skip when it comes on - Everything Will Be Alright. UGH. Such a moany & droll song! While they didn't play any new songs this time around, they did do a David Bowie cover, which I have captured for your listening pleasure. [YouSendIt]

The saga continues...

As if you didn't get enough of his cheesy schmultz via the first five videos and when he lipsynched at the VMAs (WTF was up w/ that? It wasn't singing & it sure as hell wasn't acting...), R. Kelly is proud to present (hopefully) the conclusion to his In the Closet saga.

Oh... I can't wait to get the whole thing on DVD! Hope Best Buy or Future Shop offers a great pre-order deal! </sarcasm>

Get down...

get down & move it all around (oops.. I've let my guilty pleasure slip! ;) )

I love seeing "older" couples who are still lovey dovey w/ each other. It gives me hope that one day that I'll be like that w/ my significant other. What I love even more are "older" couples getting down!

Example #1 (& really, the only example I have)

I actually think that Tim Robbins is pretty hot for an old guy. ;)

Talk about immercing yourself

I've always thought that method acting was a bit extreme. Granted, I'm sure that it really does help build a character, but really, is it necessary to change yourself when you're off the set? How weird would it be if you had a friend who was normally really happy go lucky kinda guy/gal, but because they're playing a role htey're playing, they're now Debbie Downer? Although, that could prove to be quite the hit at parties... ;)

Where do you draw the line?

Phoenix Takes Acting As Heavy Drinker Cash Too Far

Joaquin Phoenix developed an alcohol dependency while filming his role as Johnny Cash in the new movie biopic Walk The Line. Country singer Cash, who was a renowned drinker, prompted actor Phoenix into increasing his alcohol intake for a better portrayal of the character. Gladiator star Phoenix, 30, realized his problem was getting out of control and in April checked himself into a rehab clinic when filming was over. He tells London magazine Time Out, "It was then that I became aware of my drinking. I wasn't an everyday drinker but didn't have anything else to do, anything to hold me down. I was leaning on alcohol to make me feel ok. That's what it really was."

One hit the floor...

and I was going to be #2 if I didn't get out of that crowd.

It's not like I've never been to a concert before - I've been to plenty in my life and many were 100X worse than the one last night. Although I never bodysurfed (due to the fear of being dropped on my head) I used to live in mosh pits. If there was a mosh pit, you'd better believe that I'd be there.

I've come to realize over the past 2 yrs or so, that I'm just getting to old for that shit, so I usually move twds the middle of shows now. However, seeing that it was Feist, being in the front wouldn' t have been a huge deal - & I'm really enjoying hte whole, "ppl don't push" type of GA concerts now.

It was close to midnight when Feist stopped the show because someone had collapsed in the front at stage right. By midnight, I was just really tired, my legs hurt, my back hurt, I'm just achy. Not a huge deal - figured that I'd stay in the front until 12:15-20 a.m. and then head to the back for a seat. Unfortunately, I couldn't last that long. Something just hit me all of a sudden & I felt light headed and thought that was going to black out. So I handed my bag over to my bro & went to the back.

Overall, the show was fantabulous! I haven't followed Jason Collett much, but he blew me away. He must've been drunk out of his mind, but great showing. Feist was amazing as per usual. Her album really doesn't do much for me, but her live performances always blow me away.

At this pnt, I was going to tease y'all w/ a lil sumpin, sumpin from the show last night. However, my bro told me that everything was set to go... all I had to do was hit record. So record I did... record the entire show I did. However, I have no music to show for myself. Why? Because my hermano plugged the mic into the earphone plug... GRRRR!

Let the couch jumping commence

Gawd... now this is all we're going to hear about... maybe they'll give the ;)baby a clever name like Tomkat.

Granted, w/ his fanaticism of Scientology, maybe they'll name the baby Xenu! Hey, if Nicholas Cage can name his kid Kal-el, Tom can name his Xenu!

Oct. 5 = HOCKEY

The day has FINALLY come. Oct. 5 officially marks the return of the NHL & Canucks, Canucks, Canucks! I was actually one of those people who actually missed hockey last season and am very excited about the upcoming season! YEAH! Granted, I'm not even going to see the opener
against Gretzky's Coyotes - going to the Feist show instead.

So, Don Cherry's made his predictions for the year. In the West, he sees a battle b/n Calgary and Vancouver for the conference title, but he sees Ottawa winning the good ole Stanley Cup. My predictions? Don't have any, especially since the only team that I actually follow are the Canucks. My only prediction is that Cloutier is going to do well during the season and then suck ass during the playoffs. Oh hang on... doesn't he do that EVERY year? Seriously, why did Nonis sign him to a multi-year contract? We should've gotten rid of him.

YEAH HOCKEY! ;)

Am I the only one who made the connection?

AP reported that Nicholas Cage & his wife had a baby boy that they named Kal-el Coppola Cage. I'm not exactly huge into comic books/graphic novels or anything, but isn't Kal-el Clark Kent/Superman's Kryptonian name?

Is Nicholas Cage trying to send out a msg that he wants to play a young Jor-El in a future Superman movie?

I am shocked & dismayed

That Paris Hilton has announced that she & her Greek shipping heir fiance, Paris Latsis, have called off their 5 month engagement! Paris H. didn't want to "rush into a marriage too quickly". Well, good for her. I mean, marriage is a very sacred tradition and is a symbol of the love b/n two ppl who want to spend the rest of their lives together. Good on Paris for thinking things over before jumping into it.

Give me a break - like we didn't see this coming a mile away. I'm surprised the engagement lasted *this* long!
