Don't just walk to it... RUN!

WTF is she smoking now, is what you're probably asking... I've been meaning to blog all last week about this & that, Tom & Katie, you know how it goes.

BUT, what I do need to tell you know is that you MUST, MUST, absolutely MUST go & see Batman Begins. I will admit, I'm not the biggest fan of superhero/comic movies. I can proudly say that I havne't seen a single Spiderman movie; I've only seen X-Men because I was at a party or it was on at school; and although I'm a HUGE Jennifer Garner fan, I never saw Elektra.

Anyway, my bro has been looking fwd to this movie for a while & I said that I would go w/ him. I didn't know much about the movie except that Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Katie Holmes, Liam Neeson and Morgan Freeman were in it. The main reason I wanted to see it? Chris Nolan was the director & I loved Memento. Gotta admit.. the fact that Katie Holmes was in it sorta turned me off, esp. w/ her crazy antics w/ her new lover. PUKE!

I was sorta expecting that the movie would be like ever other typical superhero movie... but was I ever wrong! I seriously came out of that movie thinking that it was the best movie of the year. I can't really remember the last time I came out of a movie so excited & wanting to see it again. Maybe the first Matrix?

If you haven't seen it yet... GO! It had the perfect mix of drama (w/out getting melodramatic), romance (w/out getting gushy), comedy, action... just everything! A near perfect movie in my mind!

The one thing they could've improved on? Hired someone else in the female lead. Katie Holmes would've been a fine choice if I didn't think she was psycho...

Looking into my crystal ball...

& I can see one of the top 2 who will move on in Canadian Idol.

I meant to post all about this the other week when I initially got the media release about the top 32, but w/ things going as crazy as they were, I had absolutely NO time. No seriously... I was working long hours & I'm not even in the tech industry... wtf? ;)

Anyway, my prediction - without even seeing a single performance is that the old Moffatt fans will come out in droves and vote, vote, vote for Dave Moffatt to move on (unless he completely & utterly chokes).

You're probably thinking, The Moffatts, why does that sound so familiar? Well... think back... way back to the beginning of this century. There was a lil pop group from Victoria that consisted of triplets and an older brother - whom were all under the age of 19. They sang a lil song called, "Girl of my Dreams." That's right... it's all coming back to you now! The band broke up a couple of yrs back and now the non-identical twin of the triplet set, Dave is back in the limelight as one of the top 32 finalists of Cdn Idol.

You're probably wondering a couple of things:

#1: Y, why do you  know so much about the Moffatts? Were you a fan or something?
Response: I'm addicted to the entertainment industry and make it my business to know everything - well, almost everything.& I am not ashamed to admit that I like pop music (however, I am ashamed to admit that actually own their first CD... it was pop! How could I not have liked their happy go lucky music!?!)

#2: If Dave was in a band, why is he allowed to compete?
Response: Good Q... wish I had a response. Obviously there, some loophole here that CTV never thought of. I mean, although we make fun of the Mofftatts and would never admit to liking them (unless you're as stupid as me), they were fairly well known outside of Canada. You don't believe me, do you? They actually did have quite a following in Europe and I do believe that htey had toured Europe quite extensively.

So here's my Q, if the lead singer of a international (mildly) popular band can audition a singing competition that is geared for those who are aspiring singers, how is that fair? I thought that the idea of Cdn Idol is to A) watch those who think they are "da shit" not sing a single note on key; and B) watch those who are seroiusly talented get a shot at the big times.

I never thought that the Idol franchise was to watch has-beens compete - let alone ppl who already had careers w/ another band.

CTV should probably look into fixing this loophole before Trevor from SoulDecision and Raina Maida from OLP audition next yr.

However, could you imagine if Justin Timberlake never pursued a solo career and auditioned for American Idol instead!?!

Good summer programming?

People... I'm dying here! The normal tv season is over & there's CRAP on TV. Seriously. I'm a TV addict & the lack of television programming in the summer may very well be the death of me. Sure, I could go & pick up a book, but do I really want to stare at more words on a page when all I do all day at work is stare at words on a screen? I want visual stimulation that will either make me laugh, get excited or yearn for the unraveling of a story line.

In the past, TV in the summer wasn't great, but it wasn't horrid. I mean, The Amazing Race used to be a summer show. But this summer... no new leg. All we have are Dancing w/ the Stars & Hit me Baby One More Time. Ok... obviously I've tuned into these shows... but purely for curiosity sake, I swear! I mean, I *had* to see Joey McIntyre, the man who I once thought I was going to marry (DUDE... I was 10!) ballroom dance. & I had to see bands who are now has-beens perform covers! I must say though.. the premier ep that I saw proved that Arrested Development probably should NOT have stopped making music, they were amazing!

Aside from that, I've been watching Veronica Mars reruns. . For those millions out there, who actually read this craptacular site (it's probably really just one person who reads this site - Hanson), what are you watching this summer? Anything I should be tuning into?

One question... why?

Was checking out one of my fave sites - Entertainment Weekly and came across this...

Look-A-Like (TV Guide Channel, TV-G) Some dude gets plastic surgery to look more like David Arquette.

Now seriously... out of the ALL, & I mean *ALL* the celebrities in the world, why in HELL would you want to get plastic surgery to look like David Arquette???

Talk about putting up a show for the media!

I know, I know, we all must be sick of all the Tom & Katie stories about how much they're in love and what a wonderful man that Tom is. BLECH!!! We all know that he went berserk on Oprah (if you haven't seen the clip, you should... it's hi-LAR-ious and actually quite disturbing and scary at the same time...)

What can I say? I'm incredibly cynical about all this Tom & Katie hoopla. Is it merely a coincidence that they both have blockbusters coming out this month? War of the Worlds and Batman Begins respectively. It seems like there is more and more news about them everyday gushing about how much in love they are. I don't know about you, but I don't even have friends who gush about how much they love someone to their friends/peers, let alone to the media.

Just yesterday, Katie told media that how much she misses Tom when he leaves the room. WTF!?! I know that it's a new relationship, but are you seriously that pathetic? Anyway... to the pnt, check out this little show that they put on for the media. It looks *SO* staged! "Let's block off the road so everyone can watch me put a Katie's helmet on. Don't we look cute together? Alrighty, Katie's helmet's on & I'm going to put mine on and we're going to ride off into the sunset on my hog."

Gag me w/ a frigging spoon! Someone, get Tom a new publicist! It's never good to have a relative, let alone, your sister, be your publicist! </rant>

Must... blog... again

Yes, I know that I've been MIA lately. Got a trojan on the comp @ work and they believe it's because of the blogs that I visit. Pcha! Our tech guys don't know anything. ;) But due to that, I've cut down the sites that I visit and obviously posting. & obviously, due to sitting in front of a computer all day, 5 days a week, I can't say that I have an urge to get on the computer when I get home.

Anyways, hopefully things will pick up a smidge. I'm still trying to get things back into order after my vacation to Cuba - where I got my life purse stolen. GRRRR! However, the trip was phenomenal overall! But I must add, getting everything replaced has been a MASSIVE pain in the ass. I would suggest that you don't get your purse or bag stolen... ever... especially if your plane tickets were in there too!!!!!!!!

ed. note: as most of you know, I'm big on keeping my identity hush hush, but from my lil story above, I'm assuming you can guess who I am now. ;)
