POS!

Here I am.. thinking that this comments system was awesome... it's pissing me off more than anything else. POS!

Comments!?!

I'm really not digging the new layout for Blogger, but like I have a say in it. However, upside... the service now offers comments, so I'm trying it out. @ least having a built in comment section allows me to be lazy & now I don't havta figure out how to set the service up.

Friends like Us...

was the original title of the show. & last night, May 6, 2004, was the VERY last episode of the ever so popular show. The popularity of this show has surpassed Seinfeld if you ask me & much like Seinfeld, this show will live on forever via syndication.

Last night was also my girlfriend's last night in town before she left for Ottawa. So, a few of us headed over to her place to hang out for the evening & because the last ep was also airing, you know we had to watch it. My thoughts on the actual ep though? Uh.. it wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't good. I don't know, it just was a little too predictable. Everyone knew that Rachel & Ross were going to frigging get 2gether. If they really wanted to pull a surprise, they should've made Rachel go to Paris & leave Ross behind. Granted, would people really be happy w/ that conclusion? Most likely not.

Seriously though... how good could the ep really be? How many series finale really provide us w/ closure or have a spectacular ending? None. Seinfeld for example, stunk... despite what some of my friends say. I vaguely remember the finale of Rosanne & I remember not liking that one either.

All in all, it somewhat does feel like the end of an "era". Friends has been such a staple of my life for the last 10 yrs. It's been a number 1 show for the past decade, you can't deny that. & of course, w/ all of the media that has been leading up to this pnt, & all the media that will be following up w/ the end of the show, it will take @ least a year before people stop talking about the show. I can guarantee you that in the new fall season, when all the new shows are released, there will be comparisons b/n Friends & how there isn't a show that can fill its spot.

It finally happened

Brian Burke was fired a couple of days ago. I know, I shouldn't be surprised. There had been speculation for months now. This doesn't mean that I can be disappointed because goddamnit, I am. I honestly don't think that Burke should've been let go. Thanks to him, the Canucks have gone from a team that was going nowhere to an elite team. Granted, the damn team hasn't made it past the 2nd round int he last 2 yrs, but it's progress nonetheless. This isn't to say that Burke is the BEST GM in the league because I sure think he could've done more for our team. @ the same time, it's not his fault for not spending the $... McCaw wasn't exactly going to let him do so.

What pisses me off the most is the fact that McCaw's butt buddy, Stan McCammon, wouldn't give reasons as to why Burkie was let go. The fans want to know & I think we have a right to know. We are the ones who are paying the big bucks to see games.
