Seriously now...

why does it always happen to me? I want a free web hosting (because I'm too dirt poor to pay for web hosting) so I go to T35.com. I want to blog... so I go to Blogger. Ok... so when I try to post the very 1st time, it doesn't work. & then it worked after a lil while. NOW look! I can't get my index page to load. WTF!?! So I can't fig out if it's Blogger or T35. *sigh* Why me??? ALWAYS

Lord of the Oscars

Aight, I'll admit it... I'm totally on the LoTR bandwagon, but can you really blame me? It probably will be known as the trilogy of the century. Star Wars what? (Speaking of... is that 3rd installment ever gonna come out? Not that I've even seen the 2nd one yet...) I saw the Return of the King over the X'mas break & was I ever blown away. the only other time I've ever felt the way I did @ the end of the movie was when I saw The Matrix back in the day. The only diff this time around is that I didn't want Return of the King to end. Although I had been glued to my seat for nearly 3 1/2 hours, the time seem to just fly on by.

So I've babbled on enough about that... the pnt of this posting was just to state how pleased I am to see that LoTR is leading the Oscar race w/ 11 nods. Congrats to Peter Jackson! I would've been nice to see some of the actors get a nomination too, but I'll take the 11 nominations.

The Golden BS

If you had asked me years ago (even last yr), I would've told you that the Golden Globes are a pretty cool award & typically the winners of the show will go on to win the Oscars. However... after watching CBC's The Passionate Eye, I have absolutely NO respect for the show OR the Hollywood Foreign Press.

Here I was... thinking that the awards are voted by these prestigious entertainment reporters from around the world. Was I every wrong... & everyone in Hollywood even knew that these awards have been a sham the entire time! Over 90% of these reporters aren't even real reporters. Most of 'em have other jobs & careers. & if you are a real & reputable reporter, there's no way in hell you'll even get into the organization. Can someone explain how that works? Bunch of BS let me tell you.

However, ironically, 75% of the winners last night will still win the Oscars @ the end of Feb.

Where's the love motivation?

I desperately need some motivation. Here I am, a graduand & unemployed. Ok, so if my manager heard me talk that way, she'd kick my ass. I should say that I'm underemployed & working in retail which is not why I spent nearly $20,000 for university for. I want a job, but @ the same time, I have absolutely no motivation to write cover letters. It doesn't help that I haven't heard from any of the 2 organizations that I did apply for. :( I'm not used to it... especially since in my last Co-op, I got an interview for every position I applied for. *sigh* I guess I havta realize that there is much more competition now that I'm in the "real" world. Kinda like the transition b/n high school & university--ranking in the top 10% to being average.

French teens keen on Kristin Kreuk

I've never really understood why my brother watched Edgemont. It sure ain't no Degrassi High, that's fo sho. Granted... Edgemont *does* have that uber-gorgeous gal, Kristen Kreuk. I'll admit it, I think she is ultra purty. It's that 1/2 white, 1/2 Chinese thing. Seriously.. have you ever seen an ugly half breed? ;)

Well, as most of you know, Kristen is most likely more known in North America as Lana Lane on Smallville. However, would you believe that Kristen is better known for her role as snobby Torontonian Laurel Yeung in France??? How in HELL did that happen? I'm sorry, but I would rather watch Degrassi the Next Generation than that 2nd rate CBC show. Granted... that may just show how bad my taste is in television programming...

Check out the article on Kristen from the Vancouver Sun.

Why me???

The plan for Sat. was to go out for dindin & then hit a movie. Not that exciting, but an opportunity to hang w/ Kirsty & Lisa. W/ such simple plans, how could anything go wrong? One would think absolutely nothing, however, in my case, this was not such.

So, we decided to hit Anton's, which is on E. Hastings in Burnaby and there is ALWAYS a line up. For most Vancouverites, they already know this but, Anton is an incredibly popular restuarant, mostly because of the size of the servings you get for $14. Holy shiznit... I ate til I was ready to burst & it seriously looked like I hadn't touched my plate. If you manage to clean off your plate, you even get a pen. Some dude who was sitting behind us got one of 'em spiffy pens. & from what I've learnt from Jess, before you attempt to finish the plate, make sure they have the pens. ;) Anyhow, Lisa, Kirsty & I got down to Anton's about 7 pm or so. It wasn't raining & it wasn't too cold, which was a good thing since the line outside Anton's was fairly long. So, we had been in line for about 30 min already, just having casual conversation when all of a sudden, I feel something hit my arm that was sorta wet. First thought, someone just hit me w/ a snowball. So I look around & I don't see anyone running by. Then it hit me... there's no snow around anymore. So I look up @ the verranda to see if ice fell off it. Nope... doesn't look like it. WTF??? So, I look down & what do I see? A yellow liquid all over my hand. Then I look @ the floor, white shell like things on the ground. FUUUUCCCKKK... I was a victim in a drive-by egging! That's right... laugh... I sure did. Ok, so I didn't immediately, but after a couple of minutes, I did.

Anywho, Lisa got a lil bit of it on her. So we went into the restaurant to use the washroom to clean up. All the while, I was excusing myself to ppl & announcing that there was a drive-by egging because I didn't want to smear any of it on anyone else... seeing that it was dripping down my legs w/ each step that I took. Cleaned myself a bit, then went back outside w/ my wet pants. Although I didn't find it cold earlier... I did now. Lisa & I think that this was a racially motivated incident. Come on now.... Lisa is brown, I'm yellow & then there's Kirsty, white as white can be. & who gets hit? The brown & yellow girls! We were *thisclose* to calling BCTV & going on Speaker's Corner to complain about the situation. ;)

Other than that... the evening went smoothly... I compalined to our waitress about what happened & then she brought Anton over to talk to us & we scored a free slice of cake @ the end of the dinner. Wee! That was worth the egging... or was it? However, if we didn't get that piece of cake, we would've made it to our movie in New West on time. But because we did the cake, we were late & then ended up going to Silvercity. Frigging $14 for a movie! Especially a Mandy Moore movie???

I can now also proudly say that I went to see a movie on opening weekend, which ended up being ranked #7 for the weekend! How sad is that? Anywho, Chasing Liberty was very cute. My thoughts on the movie were very similar to those of the critics. It definitely was no LOTR: Return of the King (which I may add is the movie of the year!). But yeah, the movie was very much a typical romantic comedy. As some reviewers may have mentioned, very Notting Hill-esque. Best part of the movie? Matthew Goode (Note the "E. He's not Matthew Good the singer!) Hot damn, is that boy ever hot! I'll be adding him to my obsession of the month. :)

wtf

I seriously hate Blogger... why must they keep messing w/ me &the layout of the damn posting area???

test #2

OMG... I'm back again

Well... technically, this is a brand new blog. However, I believe it's my 3rd attempt in starting a blog. I'm never really successful in the upkeep of it. Hell, if I can't keep motivated to email my friends, why would I have the urge to keep a blog updated!?!
