Yays, nays & HUHs!?!

I love award shows. LOVE 'em, LOVE 'em, LOVE 'EM! Yes, they can be boring, but I will sit in front of the TV to watch the whole dang thing.

So, the Emmys were on last night and it is an annual festivity at my house. All that really means is that the whole family sits down to watch 'em together. Mind you, my mother will sit in the other room to watch it with earphones on. Don't ask. I was looking forward to Ellen being the host. Loved her a couple of years back & I love her show, so I was ready to get comfy and have a good time.

A good time was had by those who won the Emmys, a good time was not had by me. I don't know… it was just a bit too boring for me & it didn't help that the majority of my faves were screwed over. There could've been a bit more Ellen and although Katrina should be on the mind of everyone, it made for quite the somber evening.

So, here's my thought of last night's awards ceremony:

YAY for:
Felicity Huffman's dress - absolutely gorgeous!!! Love the colour, love the cut.
Felicity Huffman winning Best actress in a comedy! Take that Teri Hatcher! It was nice to she her complete and utter shock & sincere acceptance speech. VERY cool that she mentioned Sports Night too.
J-Brams - JJ Abrams won for best director for a drama - now if he could stop reinventing Alias every 5 episodes or so.
Mitch Hurowitz for best writing for a comedy - much deserved for a HILARIOUS episode.
Mitch's acceptance speech - really, why aren't there more people watching Arrested Development?
Kristen Bell's performance of Fame! Amazing! Singing, dancing, acting, is there anything this girl can't do?
Lost winning Best drama!
Amazing Race winning Best reality show.
S. Epatha Merkerson's acceptance speech for winning Best actress in a miniseries.
